Laid off almost 3 years ago now. Over 60 and no one will hire me. Am I done?

Been living off savings. Should I just cal myself retired and try to make it to social security? I am so soft now that I dont know that I could be good again even if I got something.

That is what I done. I retired 18 months ago, not because no one would hire me, but because I was sick of having to deal with wanker bosses.
I lost my job and made the decision to not seek another position. I have enough to get me to pension age, 2 1/2 years. Then half of my pension will pay my rent.
Is there a requirement for you to continue to look for work to qualify for social security?
@Gusman I dont think your employment status matters with social security in America. I have a pension from one of my old jobs but it would only pay half my mortgage. I will be eligible to start getting social security next year but in America, the longer you wait to get it, the more you get.

I am like you. I was completely burned out with terrible jobs with bad bosses and companies that treated me like a slave. I actually had an offer a couple of years ago but I could tell it was the same shit that I had with old jobs. I struggled with taking it but I just couldnt sell myself out again so I turned it down. Now I am worried that I will run out of money.

@AmericanAvenger That is a worry. Running out before we pass away. No one wants to be homeless.
With less than 12 months to go, maybe tighten your belt a little more. Stay home, do not spend unnecessary money.
Here is Australia, Social Security is paid to unemployed people until they find work.
Money after retirement is called the Age Pension.
