@JimboSaturn I did about halfway thru my career. My coworker was the most dedicated employee I’ve ever known. A brilliant millwright and diverse knowledge in all avenues of trades.
Then one day he got killed in a motorcycle accident (50 yrs old).
The company was devastated…
But it didn’t miss a beat. The work got contracted out and his name was only brought up for a couple weeks after in conversation.
Rarely took a day off. Never called in sick. And took any overtime available.
All for nothing.
