I have not been job hunting since 2011.

I would imagine today, just like then - low wage deadbeat jobs are probably easy to come by.

It would be the good jobs that are hard to find.
@Punches actually the low wage deadbeat jobs are all being taken by illegals, refugees, international students, and recent immigrants

@uikakarotuevegeta Not so much the ones where speaking English is needed.

I think a lot of the undesirable jobs are being taken by illegals etc because most Americans will not do them.

I mean Americans are just not going to dig ditches or work construction clean-up for minimum wage. It just is not worth it.
I know in some countries, the amount we call "minimum wage" is a fortune for them, so it works out.
@Punches even low end retail and restaurant jobs are being taken by international students and new immigrants let's be honest here (not sure if illegals and refugees are though). have you ever noticed how as soon as a Desi gets to a manager position, suddenly the workplace is filled with Indian staff?

@uikakarotuevegeta i notice a lot of gas stations are owned by indians, other places it is still a mix.
