So the boss's boss's boss, as aforementioned, is taking me seriously. She came to me this morning with a few career move options, one of which would
even come with a PROMOTION.
The promotion one, however, appears to perpetuate my stress; it is an unstructured department that I would be tasked with structuring, essentially.
The one I have had my eye on is supposedly about a 3rd of my current stress, and would be a lateral move. I am looking for BOREDOM over stress right now, and she very much understands that.
She said we can put me in the lateral position, most likely, then perhaps transition me into the vendor management position.
I would be working on a user interface across many vendors, as well as kinda be an executive assistant for management, as well as coordinate with managers across projects.
I will be honest...while I know I am smart enough to boss it out, I have no desire to manage people again, nor to create big projects from scratch.
These conversations DID very much bolster my confidence though, in that:
- I came with major complaints and parlayed those complaints into a potential PROMOTION
- They said they were very impressed with my resume
- The higher ups (way above my current boss) want to work with me directly.
