Is it hard to get in an IT career?

My current job is a dead end. I'm pretty tech savvy, I'm thinking about switching careers. I don't know if it's possible though

It's quite possible. I would recommend coding.
Coding is one of the most lucrative industries in IT. Especially software or web/app development.
