What is the best piece of advice you could give someone for getting through college?

Work off and pay off as many classes as possible without getting loans.

Take courses that interest you, but make certain you can use them in a career field. Underwater basket weaving or "Liberal Arts" may seem fun to you, but there's no demand for them in the work force.

Read every chapter of every book and do every assignment possible, plus ones not assigned

* and do not drink beer with hot italian brunettes
@saragoodtimes I can assure my sampling confirms ALL Italian brunettes are fun to drink with!

* When studying for a Thermodynomics test and a corporate income tax test at the same time ... Italian Brunettes + Beer places one in an unsolvable dilemma
@HeavenBesideYou LOL ... you are too much fun!

Too much is probably an accurate description of me 🤪@questionWeaver

Focus study focus study focus study and then study some more.

@Elevatorpitches it's because for the most part college is a scam.
@Lostpoet No my student-ship was a SCAM

I was sent away to school cause my parents wanted me out of the house and didn't think paying for an apt next to the welding school was a good investment

so they spent 50 times more for NOTHING

Did you go to Trump University, by any chance?

Do the work, even if you don't see how it will ever be used in real life. Do it.

Honestly? Keep it simple. The very first semester take only 12 hours . Having success in that semester will determine a lot of your college experience. Success is contagious and addicting. You will want more of it and will do anything to get it, including study, go to class, and take F'ing meticulous outline form notes.

Then dont ruin things by looking ahead. As a college student you can only deal with life week by week. Dont worry about what all has to be done for the course, and only worry about what needs to be done for that class that day. No month at a glance nonsense.

Make sure you butt is always in class , taking notes, and listening very closely to lectures. Plan an hour break before classes or labs that are notorious for having quizzes and go cram in the library . Take labs in the afternoons, save mornings for lectures when your mind needs to be its sharpest.

Focus when you must and have fun when you can.
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
Eat breakfast every single morning regardless of what it is but try to aim for something that gives you energy
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
It’s ok to be dumb. Lol
@TurtlePink Its not ok for me.

Maybe thats why I'm 3/4 psycho

Forced to act like I could handle stuff I couldn't

since its the APPEARANCE that counts and nothing else

"since its the APPEARANCE that counts and nothing else"

Is that why you're so obsessed with capital letters? 😜
@FCNantes why are YOU so obsessed with grunging me out?

I deserve more respect.
Learn a real skill FIRST and if you do well go get some education afterwards
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
Education isn't only found in the books.
FCNantes · 22-25, M
Do what you think you in 10 years time'd do.
50% is what you actually learn. The other 50% is the friends you make.

Have fun and get your shit done.

You may have a fancy paper in the end but it’s that much better if you have friends to network with to get you in to better jobs and places.

Learn how to work before you start college then treat college like it is your job. Oh yeah and stay out of debt. No student loan is worth taking out.
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
Bug the hell out of your professor until you understand the material. Sometimes you have to put yourself first 🤷🏿‍♀️

Sit down and shut up.
