Well Louis Vuitton's agents showed up at this person's house to demand he stop but under law you can legally repurpose old items, you just just can't buy fake items and sell it as the real thing.

Louis Vuitton claimed he was selling fake brand names, after he proved he was getting them from their website, they went as far to hire a CIA or FBI agent at their fraud division to try to go to his house to intimidate him.

He's still selling the wallets and he got their threat letter encased, put on his wall

Yet there is the possibility of fake stuff coming from "estate sales".

Those who run estates sales often have no idea what they are selling is fake or not.

Yeah that's a bit of legalese that many overlook. Yet technically it's on the books.

I really don't agree with those laws either. Those laws should have never been made it begin with.

No patent should be more than fourteen years. Nor any option to renew the patent. Most certainly not over a hundred years.

Remove those patent laws, you invalidate any subsequent patent laws.

BTW Article I, Section 8, Clause 8 of the constitution covers that original 14 year patent. Congress can easily remove their own laws through that article.

@DeWayfarer I know what you're saying and agree. However, he could prove what he said and to this day is still buying their used up purses for wallets though so he was well within his rights. Even after a CIA agent came to use his false authority on the victim's doorstep.

He is getting the stuff from two different places, even if it's mostly from them instead of the estate sale. That law makes no exception in quantity. Even one item from any estate sale, then Louis Vuitton has a case.

Lawyers are notorious for the letter of the law. Spirit of the law is meaningless to lawyers.

The law would specifically have to say how much, even if was defined as a "majority". Even that is vague by lawyers. They would have to prove he got more than 50 percent plus 1 from Louis Vuitton. Why would Louis Vuitton want to prove it, when the onness is on the one being sued, who has all the records to prove it? And he has admitted to going to at least one estate sale.

I really don't like lawyerese. Yet I recognize that it unfortunately exists.

Having dealt in computer programming though, I have to recognize it. It's very close to the same thing.
