Consumers are being told that prices are rising because transport fuel costs are rising

Yes, they are rising, so why are they rising?
Global Economic conditions, Russia/Ukraine war, Supply disruptions.
Okay, then why have the biggest oil companies - Shell, ExxonMobil, BP, Chevron, and ConocoPhillips - made $75 billion profit last year?
We, the consumers are being duped daily by all and sundry.
My car insurance rose again. I questioned the company why.
Their response in part was - "Insurance premiums have been increasing year on year, this has been due to the current global climate."

So we just have to accept "year on year" price rises.
Well, I cancelled my insurance, not accepting the mantra - Insurance premiums rise "Year on Year"
New insurance saved me over $400.

Sadly Capitalism has found a way to profit in times of scarsity. They dont have to compete as hard.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman They also gouge the public, raising prices over and above world factors.
Using excuses, Covid, inflation, supply problems to justify the gouging.

@Gusman Of course. Thats because the "Free Market" only exists in the classroom. The Americans will be putting up with way worse from their system.. Consumer protections there are hardly enforced..😷
