I'm not exactly Buddhist but I have meditated at a Buddhist temple many times before COVID shut it down. I don't know what Vesak Day means- can you explain it to me?

I'm a Buddhist but I've never heard his birthday called Vesak Day. His birthday drifts around the calendar in the Spring according to the moon. Once it was the day after mine!
