Are Buddhists really atheists?

Atheists in the West claim that Buddhists are atheists, so they (the atheists in the West) feel better that they are not the only atheists in the world.

My purpose is to ask Buddhists whether they really deny that God exists.

From my part, I know from my reason and intelligence that God exists.

So, paging Buddhists, please come over and let us discuss whether you Buddhists really deny God exists.

Protestants who protest against Catholic theory / ideology, are atheists of Catholic. So any atheist will only be atheists first of the religion they are born in and not disbelievers in god totally. They are more against the superstitious rituals , practices and impositions on humans, which they stay away from. So to say Buddhists are atheists is wrong, for in Buddhism its the principles of life that they follow without much rituals. And Buddha too is worshipped as God and they are also Hindu gods such as Lakshmi, Brahma in Buddhist temples. So no Buddhist denies god.

@in10RjFox I'm a Buddhist and i deny god. Buddhism teaches noting is permanent,in fact nothing exists unchanging for even a moment.
There is no god in Buddhism. When gods are mentioned they are symbolic for states of mind.

@Entwistle Think you didn't quite get what I have stated. God has nothing to do with theism / atheism, for it relates to a religion. You saying that you are a Buddhist, means that you are theist and not atheist. Whether you accept/ deny god is up to you.

@Entwistle you being an atheist does not mean that all Buddhists are atheist. Also there is no qualification or evaluation procedure to declare one as atheist. So anyone can claim oneself as Theist or Atheist. There is nothing for me to believe or not believe. There is also no true definition of a theist.

@in10RjFox All Buddhists are not atheists that is true. However Buddhism is an atheist teaching. It believes in no gods in the traditional sense of the word.

@Entwistle you are making the same mistake again that "no gods" mean atheism. Any religion having teaching of any kind becomes theism, and those against or don't believe in that teaching are atheists of that religion.

The same can be applied to court of law and justice. Those who abide by procedure are considered thrusts and those who don't are atheists.

Atheism does not mean no gods exist

means Atheism means some god exists..

It means someone,an atheist doesn't believe any gods exist..

One who doesn't believe any god exist means he does believe some god exists.

So the problem is in the logic which makes your argument illogical.
