I Love Birds

I haven't written about birds for a while. Really I love all things in nature. Not just birds. Where I live we have two types of birds of prey. The buzzards are huge and seem very tame. They sit on the top of telephone poles mostly. But sometimes even on the top of fence posts. And they don't care if a car is going past. Also we have red kites. They are so beautiful. Sorry buzzards. You're colours are a bit boring! But the red kites. The colours. The shape of the tail. And I love their call. It's like a kitten mewing. I often hear them before I see them. And I search in the direction of their call. And there they are. Sometimes I see six or seven at the same time. And the most interesting thing is that when my Mam was a girl there was only one pair left in Wales and none in any of the other UK countries. That's what I call comeback!
