They do it for both reasons. If I'm late feeding my little family if robins they peer through the window and screech.

@Matt85 I stopped putting food on the window ledge because twice I had birds run into my window and die. I built a platform out in the yard with a bird bath for them to eat, swim and socialize.

We had a record heat wave along with a drought and I kept a deep clay saucer on a plant stand filled with water for them. It was near the window of the window next to where my computer desk was. One day I was on the computer and heard a pecking sound and it was a sparrow. I looked out and the water dish was empty so I refilled it for them. They did it more than once and the squirrel even started jumping up on the window screen and bumping to let me know he needed water too.

They see their reflection in windows.

You love birds? Really?
I love birds more than cats and dogs. I don't like the type of a guy who be holding a cut and starts caressing its fur.

@HisFutureBrit50 German Shepherds are cool. Poodles are funny... but I really want a Husky, they are such drama queens.
And welcome to the site! By the way!

@Matt85 I love husky breeds too, looking at them, I see a winter season itself.
