Do you feed the birds in your neighborhood ?? If so, what kind of food do you put out for them ??

Mine seem to love sunflower seeds.

I do and get a lot out of it. It's awesome having a little bird family and seeing different species come through when they're migrating. I go with wild bird seed and crushed up peanuts. Finally learned that the best way to keep the woodpeckers and flickers off my house drilling holes was to crush the peanuts so they have to eat them when they see them instead of storing them. It works. It took a while, because they used to fight, but now I have usually five or six species, along with gray squirrels, chipmunks and occasional rabbits, all eating breakfast together in peace. It's fun.

@Ynotisay the crushed nuts is a brilliant idea for the squirrels. They do dig up the bulvs though. Your feeding time sounds amazing.

@meggie Yeah. It's a trade off. Mammals or bulbs. :) And it is a fun feeding time. I live in a forest and it's something I've really come to enjoy. Learning how and when they operate is really interesting. Knowing it's actually good to feed them is the big bonus. Good luck with your robins. They're pretty amazing birds. 👍

@Ynotisay I'd love to live in a firest, but i do have a nice garden to attract the animals.
@Ynotisay that sounds beautiful 😊

@meggie That's all you need. Create your own little ecosystem and here they come. :)

@metaldog Yeah. I got lucky. It's definitely beautiful. I'll never live anywhere other than the mountains from here on out. :) I came from a city of 3.5M at 50 ft. of elevation to a secluded village at 7K with 350 super kind people. Easy call. 👍
@Ynotisay lucky you!! ✨
