How do birds die?(both)

Do most of them die of old age?
Do they die while flying or when asleep?
Do more birds die from predators than naturally?

Serious answer.
Being so small mainly if they die in the night falling from a perch a bird like a finch on the ground would be eaten by a fox or badger pretty quickly.
Predation isnt a big factor a hawk only needs about 2 medium sized birds a day.

@Gusman In my home country there are a number of non flying bird species including Kiwis. Biggest Predators are stoats and weasels both brought in by the English. Before 1769 there were no land mammals or predators apart from the Māori of course.

Cats as you say are also a huge problem. Wind farms not so much.
