Do you find some birds are getting more tame/friendly?

Since lockdown in the UK, and there being hardly any planes, I can hear the birds chirping loudly and often not flying off when I get near. I think they are happier.

Here's a very friendly Heron I met on the canal today.

Yes! I saw a Heron fly over the community tennis court last weekend and everyone stopped and watched in awe.
@Raine thank you for the BC!!

@Raine I see them on our golf course and South Carolina. Not sure what this bird was but it decided to visit us on our deck in our time share in Hilton Head.

@samueltyler2 they hang around where there's lots of fish. I'm not sure what your bird is, but I've seen them before.

Less air pollution and less noise and fewer people runniing everywhere...that helps too.

Cool photo!!

@Elevatorpitches thank you. Nice to see and hear them happy.

I hope soooo.. but tbh my area has cats so idk I love cats but hate that they scare the birds.. 🙄 which is why I loved my fat cat spike because he couldn’t catch any hahahahaha!! 😂 I miss him soooooo much!!

@AuRevoir i love cats too. It's a shame they are bird predators.

I was just on holiday and it seemed like animals and birds missed us
Raine · F
@Ingwe well they even say the zoo animals miss the visitors

@Raine heartbreaking

@Ingwe we were on safari just prior to covid. The lack of tourists since has, reportedly, caused significant loss of revenue needed to help protect the natural habitat.

We are crowding them out of their natural habitat in many places. Beautiful bird.

Where was that?
Azlotto · M
I've also noticed that.

Probably here because there's over an inch of ice on the ground covered with three inches of snow. Them little guys are hungry.
Raine · F
@Azlotto please throw them a few scraps x

@Raine I do, but bread and crackers are all I have...I will be buying some proper bird food, tho.
Wow. That’s so cool ! Where I am I’d only see a heron in the zoo. 😃

@Raine that bird was in London? That would seem odd.
@Raine I once saw a condor flying, during a camping trip (wingspan 10 feet). But the everyday birds here that I see and hear are blackbirds, crows and seagulls.
Raine · F
@bijouxbroussard we get all of those in the UK too. The seagulls seem to have moved inland and are everywhere. My favourite is the Robin.

End times. The animals are teaching us that peace is what we should strive to obtain. Not war. 🙂
