Who wants to see a real live woolly mammoth?

Is it ethical to reproduce long extinct species? Just asking this esteemed group of philosophers.

Interesting philosophical and ethical question...is the evolution of species an ethical process? have humans screwed up nature too much?? Is there danger in brining back beings that have gone extinct?? Is there benefiut--new discoveries of cures for diseases? Hmmm...I also fear humans tampering too much with nature...we somehow end up using much of our knoewledge to create weapons of mass destruction, like nuclear weapons and poinsous substances...yet science has helped make life easier and less dangerous in some ways,,,and we do live much longer,,,or is that merely selfish?
