if there is higher intelligence and extraterrestrials, why do they let bad things happen to people
how can they watch and allow bad things to happen to people in the world? i have often wondered this.

IF we didn't have terribly intelligent humans, we would be living in the horrific conditions of the dark ages. Human intelligence has provided us with heat, toilets, running water, and food which we can buy by simply walking into a store.
There are no extraterrestrials in our world. If there were, I doubt they could effect much change on our huge population. And why would they want to? WE are not THEIR people.
IF you would ever go to church...or even read the Bible, you would know that God gave man free will. God does not try to take HUMAN decision making power away from us. He allows us, instead, to learn and grow. When humans were expelled from the "Garden", we were forced to learn how to survive in a world where everything is trying to kill us. And humans have learned.
MOST, if not all, of the bad things that happen to the people of the world are caused by other humans. Greed, hatred, pestilence, all the ills of Pandora's box, cause our heartaches...and only other humans who are learning and changing will help us.
