I Love Myths and Legends From All Cultures

As a Frank I have a deep interest in Frankish legend and the tales of the Merovingian kings and princes, but too there are myths and legends of my people's neighbours the Alans, the Helvetii, and the Celts, all very interesting to me.

Cultural identity is what binds a people together, it is the glue which our societies are constructed. Myths and legends about heroes, and gods, are essential to understanding each other, I feel. Places like the Louvre, and the British museum are great places to find identifying evidence of these things.

Interesting. Do they still teach the kids in school about the Merovingian kings in France? Or have you read about them in your private time?

@Mugin16: My father is a lecturer in medieval history.

@Rozcerise: Nice. That helps of course. I am sure he can give lots of good books to read.
