Don't you just love it when religious people want to control the law according to their own hand me down beliefs?

The hallmark of intelligence is clearly belief, not critical thinking.

Now when you add all those religious people together, there it's not many people left that identify as atheists or agnostics you may come up with an estimated billion or some hundred millions.

It seems like religious people actually are the dominant population, five to one - so they make the laws. And if you speaking specifically of Christianity it's two to one. But in Muslim countries Muslim makes the laws, and Jewish countries Jews make the laws, and those who practice any other religions make the laws in their own country.
