@DocSavage I think that it is very possible that someone got executed for claiming that they were the son of god. Short of that, though, I don't see much truth in it either.
@DocSavage I literally had to debate a guy at the gym about it a couple of hours ago. I do believe he existed but that he was a Jewish rabbi who died like everyone else.
