For once, I do summer homework not on the night before summer ends, but after I save my essay (which I stupidly saved to my hdd) my hard drive decides to commit suicide :/ this is why I'll never buy another hdd

You should back up everything to the cloud.

SSDs can also fail suddenly, and they're more likely to fail with no warning. HDDs sometimes make noise or give other indications that they're about to bite the dust.

Maybe you should buy a good one next time :)

@TheButterfly it cost $200 which is relatively expensive for a hdd, I bought it in 2016 when I didn't know SSDs existed though
