Who knows? Even the messiah doesn't seem to be able to make up his mind. It's either be charitable and do good things (Matt 25:31-40), or follow what we would call old covenant law (Mark 10:17-19), or just have faith in him (John 3:16). Maybe do all three? Not according to the apostle Paul. "Take notice: I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. Again I testify to every man who gets himself circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace" (Gal 5:2-4). So, following the law and believing in Christ is not an option. So which one does one have to do? It doesn't even depend on whom you ask, as Jesus himself literally said both. This seems to be a major problem.

@SparkleLeaf If christ was jewish than wouldn’t he have been circumcised?

@SparkleLeaf Interesting 👍

@Adrift Jesus doesn't need the sacrifice to apply to him, he is the sacrifice. According to Christian tradition, he followed the law perfectly, which was a requirement to be the Messiah. Paul, on the other hand, canonically was an Israelite religious leader, and so was also circumcised. It sounds like he was saying the sacrifice didn't apply to him. Of course, there is a very real possibility the man we call the apostle Paul didn't even write it.
No best way, only one way. Acknowledge that you (like all of us) are a sinner and deserve hell. But then realise that Christ paid the penalty for us by shedding his blood on the cross and having the entirety of God's wrath poured out on him so that all who believe on this can enter heaven.
