Do you ever feel bad about living in a war-free area, almost like kinda smug-but-guilty?

I'm truly sorry that I get to live in comfort. I truly feel guilty when people are dying from these wars going on.

I think there's a psalm in the bible where it basically says "it's easy for you God! Up there in your comfortable Heaven!"

And I can relate to both sides.

There is no Psalm that says this- the Psalmist laments that at times it feels God is distant (he isn't but we've felt like it during trials).

Going around feeling guilty won't solve anything. Pray for them (to the Triune God of the Bible) and if you can, give.

@BritishFailedAesthetic There's a few places in The Bible where men ask God to punishe people multiple (one example is 7) times what they deserve. God is supposed to be JUST. Why would he double or give 7 times to people what they deserve? When I read these verses I knew it had mans fingerprints all over it.

@Matt85 God is sovereign. Also just because humans make an unjust request it doesn't mean God will fulfil it. If it was just, God did it.

@BritishFailedAesthetic I believe it's God breathed. I can see you might be confused cause I put it in inverted commas but I believe that scripture is God breathed, some parts more than others. Do you know how they chose the cannon? It's gone on over several centuries.

@Matt85 Yup. In my church we have a guy who got brain damaged by a car accident who called the pastor fat in fellowship.... who regularly goes out to vape, the South African man who I mention in my post goes out for a cigarette after the sermon, etc.
