Define in detail what a ghost is. Are they made of matter like you and me? Emit or reflect light? Leave any residue that can be tested?
Evidence is what counts. Detectable, measurable, and testable. Say so anecdotes are not, no matter the source.

@BlueSkyKing Semi-visible entities

@Nexus That’s not defining. If there is evidence, why is believing required?
@BlueSkyKing Even with evidence some people don't believe it's anything supernatural

@Nexus If you have anything physically unique, then it becomes fact, not a belief. The only thing offered are anecdotal experiences and crappy photos/ videos. Even if I had a personal experience, my say so is worthless.
You asked why or why not, producing physical evidence will change my mind.

@BlueSkyKing I never said ghost were real. You misread the question . I asked if you believed are real . I man I do believe in ghosts, but my question didn't state that

@Nexus Ghosts are part of human culture worldwide. It isn’t hard to find ghosts in the themes of books, plays, movies, music and so on. Sometimes there is music that is described as 'ghostly' or 'spook' and we understand the meaning.
William Shakespeare is considered one of the greatest writers of the English language. He often used ghosts to move the plot forward. Dickens' A Christmas Carol is all about the ghosts. The concept started while we were children and the media keeps it going. Remember 'Scooby Doo'? At the end it wasn’t anything supernatural, the bad guys were always fakes that exploited human fears.
People have hopes of an afterlife. Personally I choose to embrace reality. A belief in ghosts is part of the wishful mind set and human imagination.
