Question about Jesus

Would Jesus still be revered and worshipped as he is today if Mary hadn’t been a virgin and he wasn't conceived through immaculate conception?

I think If a guy waked around today saying he is the son of god and his mother was a Virgini when he was born, he’d be locked up in the loony bin
