Tell me what you love most about your religion, faith or lack off.

No arguing in this thread. You will get the boot for trolling. Harmless jokes are okay.

I would define myself as agnostic. I dislike fanatical aspects of faith, the kind of aspects that are used to commit evil acts or to be evil people, but there are many aspects of faith that I admire and I've been welcomed in to faith based events to share in celebrations and I cannot disrespect that kind of kindness.

What I appreciate about my own position is that I'm my own judge and jury as far as my morality is concerned. This puts the onus on me alone to choose my path and to correct myself, not in fear of any higher power but because I believe in my chosen path. I also take comfort in my instinct that tells me that there is nothing beyond death. For as much as eternal nothing is a daunting thought, eternal consciousness is equally if not more daunting to me. If the lights go out and I'm not aware of anything further then all my troubles will end and there will be no concern to be had.

I am Jewish and here are some the things I love about my religion.

1. The focus is on life here on earth rather than on the afterlife.

2. The holidays are primarily about freedom, which is a universal concept.

3. There is a tradition of study and debate. You’re SUPPOSED to question and challenge all of the beliefs. It’s built right into the services, like at Passover. And it’s all through the Torah and Talmud.

4. It’s about sacred time, rather than sacred people, objects, or spaces. The Sabbath is sacred. But a rabbi is just a teacher. It’s literally what the word means.

5. There is room within a single faith for many different levels of observance.

I like Zen philosophy to help align my psyche with the world in which I live. It's so calming without pandering to any part of my ego or requiring me to suspend my true realist nature.

Keeps me centered. I pray but I’m not religious. I try to pray as much as I can. I always ask “Help me to keep praying even if life is doing okay”

Islam offers a deep sense of peace through submission to one compassionate God. It connects you to the divine through daily prayer, emphasizes mercy and forgiveness, and balances spiritual life with everyday responsibilities. It teaches justice, equality, and kindness—and builds a strong, united community across the world.

It’s not just a religion; it’s a way of life.

It gets to be lack of, I love that I can live my life without having a man defined religion regulating what immoral behavior I have to accept without questioning it. Among other.
It gives me comfort. Peace sometimes when I need it the most.

Love the love, but there's a clear lack of it too
the spiritual aspects combined with the practical ones make it seem very pragmatic overall. it's not overtly focused on punishment.
@HijabaDabbaDoo should go back to Islam where she came from
