Question for Christians/born again: What will you do if you are in my shoes? Or have you experienced the same situation?

Details: on last minute I was assigned to play the hymnal for our church service because the assigned pianist was absent. All I did was to practice the song. Once I was on stage and played the song, I didn't know that the hymn was change last minute. When I was on my 4th stanza, someone walked to me and talk to me, while I was playing. I can't understand what's happening, I thought everything was fine. I started to panic because it feels like there's something wrong.

After the service, someone told me that I played the wrong piece. However, our music conductor defended me and said that I played the right song, since it was written on the schedule. But in the end, they kept telling us that the hymn was changed last minute and we should've asked them (the media team). Like, how will we know? Lol

So here's the catch, I was not on the lineup of Instrumentalists for the 2 consecutive week. And I will not even take part to our anniversary.

The main thing is, the Lord knows you did your best and it seems they may have been wanting to be argumentative, while they should have been happy that you were standing in for the other pianist, as this caused great anxiety.

Frankly, I'm very proud of you. You did so well and on such short notice at the last minute, having everything changed. This would cause anyone to panic. It is certainly concerning to have someone walk on stage while you're playing and disrupt you like that. You did nothing wrong. The other person who disrupted you, however, should have had better sense. I think they're just giving you a break to get over what happened. That was very upsetting. I'm sure they'll want your services in the future. Please don't let this bother you anymore. Go and enjoy the church services and don't think another thing about it. Satan loves to discourage us. Please don't let him.
Sometimes church folks can disappoint us more than others… because we expect them to do better. But we are human and we all will disappoint others. You did no wrong so don’t worry about it. And if anyone acted rudely or indifferent, forgive them as soon as your heart is able. Prayer helps. You shouldn’t let it keep you from church tho unless you plan to leave. I don’t think that is a big enough reason to leave. As we heard so frequently on our jobs where I worked in hospitals,” just have to suck it up”. Not demeaning your experience but disappointments and even transgressions will happen to us. It’s just all a part of the fall. 🤗

Just forget about it and move.on
How embarrassing!

Although you didn't make a mistake, the people in charge of the program did not inform you that there had been a change. THEIR embarrassment requires that they punish you for their omission.
What a shame that church people can be so terribly petty.

I wouldn't waste my time going to church in the first place. Christianity is just a manifestation of one's own beliefs projected onto a God.
