Have you ever thought about what you will say when the time comes?
We each have an eternal appointment with God. It is one we shall keep. The Bible says that on Judgment Day, every single person in the world, will stand before God:
Our soul never dies. Our body does, but later is resurrected to join our spirit, in whichever place we send it! The above verse makes it crystal clear, that our soul is something that needs our full, undivided attention, because what we choose to do with our lives, determines our eternal destination.
For what shall we give an account before God?
While we know we'll give an account of our deeds, whether good or evil while in this body, it won't be so much about how much we sinned, as it will why we sinned and chose to do evil.
Sin is sin. Whether it's one sin or many sins, it's still sin, and the Bible tells us that all sin keeps us seperated from God until we repent and ask God to forgive us. We simply cannot drag our sins into a holy heaven. Only upon Jesus forgiving our sins, are we brought back into fellowship and right standing with God. Do absolutely nothing to prepare your soul for heaven, and you will have sent yourself away from the presence of God, for eternity.
In order to receive the free gift of salvation, you must be willing to accept and acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins. He will save you from the condemnation that sin placed on all of us, as we make the decision to trust Him to save our soul.
He will never turn you away. He is not willing that any perish, but have everlasting life. It is important to realize, that it is only because of Jesus' work on the cross, that our sins were paid for and forgiven. If you have asked Jesus, He will save you. It is because of Jesus, that Father God forgives us and remembers our sins no more. (Hebrews 8:12). With our sins forgiven, we have been made fit to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and dwell with God in a place where we shall never see sin, death, sorrow, nor evil again!
Romans 8:1-3 "There is therefore now, NO CONDEMNATION to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, since it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, Condemned sin in the flesh."
Jesus was not forced to save any of us. He volunteered. If you had been the only person on earth, Jesus still would have come to save your soul, because that's just how much He loves you.
We cannot enter Heaven with sin on our heels. It would not be heaven, if that was true. Jesus not only said He loves us, He more than proved it, on the cross.
This brings us to the main purpose of the judgment. Jesus is going to address each of us with this question:
"You had the chance to receive forgiveness for your sins and allow me to do what I came to do...save your soul from hell. What did you do about it?"
Of course, many will have to answer, "Nothing." While others will know, that given the chance to be saved, they still chose to disrespect, curse, belittle, laugh, and mock Jesus. Here's what's so sad about that. They will know full well, that the judgement they received, was the judgement they deserved. Since they wanted nothing to do with God and cursed Him, God will honor their decision. Only then, will it hit them hard, that they foolishly blew their only chance for eternal life in heaven. God will be heartbroken that He lost a precious soul, but He will give them the desire of their heart. Was it because of pride or stubborness, that they gambled with their own soul? Or was it unwillingness to learn or explore who Jesus is, and why we need him? What could be so important, that you would neglect and lose, your own soul?
"For what shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, but loses his own soul? Mark 8:36
Did you give Jesus a chance? That will not be His fault. That will be yours. Jesus wants us to know that we are all in the same spiritual boat...in need of a Savior. It would serve us well to give this a second thought, while we still can, because once we cross that spiritual divide, please know that we will not be able to change our mind. Reincarnation is a lie of the devil. Nowhere in Scripture does it support that notion, but in fact, says just the opposite. "It is only appointed once for man to die. After that, comes the judgment." Jesus said so, in Hebrews chapter 9 verse 27.
If you miss this opportunity to be saved, you will have sent yourself to hell. And what was worth that? Eternity is an awfully long time to get it wrong.
Romans 14:10-12, "For we shall all stand before the Judgment Seat of the Lord; for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me and every tongue shall confess to God. So then each of us will give an account of himself to God."
