They don't have the proper temperature like the triple point of water for rain, snow, and ice covered ponds. They have too much atmospheric pressure, or very little at all. Not enough hydro carbons. Earth orbits in the Goldie Locks zone, with a delicate temperature range in between the freezing point of water, and a 100 degrees which is too hot for our body temperature.
TheOrionbeltseeker · 36-40, M
@Agent Whats that zone? Did your dad put Earth in the Gold lock zone?

TheOrionbeltseeker · 36-40, M
Evolution is just a hoax created by so called scientists with their false ego projection that they know things which in reality, they don't know. It's just like someone giving his theory to outsmart us and thus gain a few points here and there.
@TheOrionbeltseeker That's exactly right.

@tindrummer Exception = Bird Turkey evolved to get brown color because it was hiding in a tree branch and Chicken evolved to white color because it is found in snow and it also wants to hide.

If you accept evolution, then the science upon which it is based explains why there is no life as we know it elsewhere.

@Jayciedubb
But without words , fire and fusion would still exist and if they really faded out we'd all being big trouble

Without words, cognition cannot function. Cognitive response is the process of accessing verbalized knowledge understood through thought, experience, and the senses.
Jayciedubb · 56-60, M
@sree251 cognitive response and cognitive function are two different things. It's a bit of a stretch to say that I can't think if there are no words to think with, or that words are what make my mind work. Do animals not think? If it had no name at all, I think I would know fire the second time I saw it as being the same thing I saw the last time I saw it , especially if I was close enough to feel its intense warmth the last time.

Without knowledge of the difference between fire and fusion I might consider them both to be the same thing and using cognitive function, I would say that they were the same thing and my cognitive function would be working correctly even though I was relaying the wrong information with words.

cognitive response and cognitive function are two different things.

Explain the difference.

It's a bit of a stretch to say that I can't think if there are no words to think with, or that words are what make my mind work.

This is my conclusion based on my observation. I think in English. Everything I perceive is named. Without naming, I cannot identify what I perceive. Can you imagine a color you have never seen before? This entire paragraph verbalizes my thinking process. Words enables thinking.

I am open to your rejection of my conclusion if you have an argument that invalidates it.

Do animals not think?

I have reflected on this. It depends on how you (were instructed in school to) perceive animals. If you believe that you are also a mammal, a biological life form, then you have to conclude that your dog also can think because it also has a brain. I know animals can recognize things and have their own way to identify things with "verbal symbols" of their own.

If it had no name at all, I think I would know fire the second time I saw it as being the same thing I saw the last time I saw it , especially if I was close enough to feel its intense warmth the last time.

So can a chimp even though it doesn't speak English and was never taught to say "fire". If an animal can recognize fire, I surmise it has its own word for it.

Empirical science is accepted by my church leaders as long as it is empirical science.
I hope they are saying that because of the level of reasoning we are blessed with, meaning all intelligence has some level of reasoning. Humans are higher than animals. Well most are, and angels would be higher than humans. So that said human levels make us inquisitive. We naturally seek out the why and how etc. It's just how we are, although some like me when it gets to the either or part I tend to go with a mental flip of the coin. I call heads it's often tails and I bumble around at times before I get it . It's like giving the wrong answer on the Internet. If you want the answer to something just ask it and write in the wrong answer. Go get a beer and by the time you get back you'll have the answer. People tend to like to one up. It's a good feeling to think one is just a little smarter. That feeling may not be endorsed so much by the Creator. But imagine his infinite ability to reason. Glad He loves us(most the time).
I sincerely believe science and the Bible will will merge or be proof of each other. But that won't be in our life time unless the rapture is closer than I think. I sorta wanna be dead. That way if I don't measure up I won't be waiting for some horseman to come chop my head off. I'll just be dead and stay dead. Never the wiser. I wish ha! I've worked outside most my life so maybe I'll be used to some of the heat at where I'm subject to be. Save my soul Heavenly Father.
Good answer as usual. You make me think. That can be taken either way lol.
I always get dysentery of the oral cavity on this subject. But I listen too that's how I learn. May peace be with all y'all.

Empirical science is accepted by my church leaders as long as it is empirical science.

Jesus said that we must be Born Again in order to see the kingdom of God, we must be born of water and of the Spirit in order to enter God's kingdom. This way we can know the Truth and be set free from all this guessing.
@kentex35 As always, thanks for your contribution and thoughts on this controversial subject, which in itself, brings much contemplation. I agree. The Lord wants us to seek the truth and be humble about it, rather than think we're smarter or better than another, or one up on anyone. Pride comes before the fall, the gospel says. That goes for us all. We can all learn from each other.

Science and Scripture are completely compatible, as science is understood to be the careful study of God's works of creation. Many of those who reject the Christian faith, do so because they believe that the Bible contradicts science. But, whether there is actual conflict and contradiction, depends on how one defines the Bible and science. If the Bible is defined as “a book of fairy tales and superstitions” and science is defined as “proven facts,” well then, obviously this will cause conflict and the two will be incompatible as sources of truth. If the Bible is understood to be the Word of God and science is understood as a materialistic methodology that rules out the very possibility of God, then yes, there will be a conflict. I submit, however, that these are not the best starting definitions and that if we think more carefully about both the Bible and science, we will see that they are not necessarily in conflict.

Christians understand God to be the Creator of all things in heaven and earth. Christians also believe that God has revealed certain truths about Himself through His created works (Rom. 1:20). Theologians speak of this as general revelation. God has also revealed Himself in His Word. We speak of this as special revelation. An important point to keep in mind is that with both general revelation and special revelation, God is the Revealer. Because God is infallible, there is no possibility of conflict or contradiction between His general revelation and His special revelation. God is the one infallible source of both.

Amen, sister, amen!! Good post. Evolution is man's feeble way to change history though their supposed 'science.' What man won't do to steer away from believing in the one true God who lives forever.

Roadside sign said something like know Jesus know peace with the no part a different color and I thought...(what kind of extortion is this?), Am I looking at it the wrong way?
@FloorGenAdm Right. It goes like this...

Know Jesus, know peace.
No Jesus, no peace.
Life can't live on other planets.
@LadyGrace That's coming from the bible though. I don't necessarily believe in a God.
I believe in some parts of the bible but I don't believe in a higher power. I don't even believe in ghosts.
@Spoiledbrat Yes ma'am. That's a decision only you can make. God says in His Word that it is a decision that everyone in this world must make, as we are all in the same spiritual boat...in need of a Savior before we can go to heaven, because we can't drag our sins into a holy and pure Heaven. Our sins keep us separated from God and heaven, until we allow God to save us from the condemnation that sin placed on all of us. It says that if we do nothing, then our sins will keep us separated from God forever.

@BlueGreenGrey Hey. You have a very narrow view about science.

Once again for you, Issac Newton invited his friends over dinner for discussion on the revolution of planets around the sun in their particular orbit. The problem was while his friends were not scientists, they were Atheists.

So, he invited them over dinner. While he was fixing it for them, he these friends came across a room where this planetary revolving model fully functional was in action. Curiously, they went to Newton in the kichen and asked him, but "Did you make that model?"

To which Newton replied, "No, must have been on its own"

They started laughing at him and said, "hey, you being smart with us"

To which Newton said, "If you believe that this model must have a creator, how can this big of the whole universe not have a creator, yet fully functional?"

People who have more brains than Newton are atheists like you.

People with lesser brains are like us, the commoners.
@BlueGreenGrey Chill. You're wound awfully tight for a troll, over simple questions. You read way too much into things and assume way too much.
