Democritus of Abdera,

named the building blocks of matter atomos, meaning literally “indivisible,” about 430 bce. Without any physical evidence. Aristotle disagreed with Democritus and offered his own idea of the composition of matter. According to Aristotle, everything was composed of four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. Deomcritus' theory better explained things, but Aristotle was more influential, so his ideas prevailed. So in this case people believed what seemed logical. But to know the truth meant looking deeper and using more than just the evidence. How interesting. 🤔

If it’s not science, it’s superstition. Science only works with evidence. Otherwise it is speculation. Only better evidence can trump current results. Want truth? Test. Truth demands to tested.

@BlueSkyKing but I find it interesting how he could have known. Obviously there is more than just evidence to find the truth

I not sure I understand what your point is. You said earlier, that you are more prone to science than superstition. Yet, you seem to have a problem concerning the desire or need for evidence.
I understand faith, and the feeling of security people get from their beliefs, but there are too many questions that can’t be ignored. Especially if you care about the truth of that belief.

@DocSavage so love must not exist for you. The only way to figure out if there is a Creator or not is to use your emotions. that's where you will find your answer and not in the physical world.

Sorry to disappoint you. But science can even explain the origins of human emotions, including love. There’s no reason why the heart and the head can not reach the same conclusion. Your belief in god comes down to fantasy and wishful thinking.
You have another post up, on the assumptions people make about others state of mind . What makes you think god is the source of love ? I heard that one a dozen times. You just admitted that you let your emotions rule your logic and reason. Do you expect me to respect such an impractical belief ? As a wise man once said : faith is the excuse you give for believing something you know in your heart ain’t true.

You’re a hypocrite. You can have your fairytale, I’ll take reality any day

@DocSavage you throw insults because you have nothing left.

@Axeroberts
Actually I have plenty more. You say you like science, yet when someone points out a few obvious flaws in your creator, you get belligerent. Typical response from creationists.

@DocSavage now you are making things up. Show me the quote
