Religion, by definition, is the belief and worship in a god. So yes, religion does save you.
@Random3838 No, it can't. Never will religion save a person. The religions of this world have absolutely nothing to do with salvation. If you read the following whole post, you'll see why. John 3:16 and 17 doesn't say go to a certain Church or even to GO to church and it will save you. Salvation is never based on our performance. God's Word says so, in the Book of Romans.

@LadyGrace you didnt say church. You said religion and religion is just the belief and worship in a god. So if you believe in God then that is religion. The way you practice it is your own religion.
@Random3838 Accepting Jesus as one's Savior, is not about religion, but it is a personal lifelong commitment/relationship with God. Jesus didn't say come to religion to be saved. As I mentioned, religion saves no one. A lot of people believe in "A" or "some" god. Depending on which one they choose, makes the difference in where they'll spend eternity. You can Define it any way you want, but religion is not the same thing as a relationship with Jesus and God the Father, no matter how many times you say it. Huge difference. I understand why you say religion is worshiping a god, but when you say as you did above, that religion saves you, you could not be more wrong. If that were the case, then the Bible would say just believe in any god you choose, and you'll be saved. No, John 3:16 and 17, say believe in the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved. It also says that there's no such thing as reincarnation in the Bible. It says that people die once and then after that, they will stand before the Lord on Judgment Day.
An amazing message excellently phrased as ever, it feels like you must have written some proffesional content before this!
@BritishFailedAesthetic No. but I've witnessed for the Lord, ever since He saved my soul, on July 23, 1973. I was so grateful and he changed my life so profoundly, I promised him that I would never waste my life again and that I would witness for him and I have always kept that promise.
@LadyGrace All us SW Christians can tell that you are blessed with this talent.
