If you have a strong faith you can accept other beliefs

I believe if a person has a strong faith and are happy with their belief they can accept others' beliefs even when they are different than theirs.

Yes, and I think also without "strong faith" acceptance is still possible. It's more a matter of having a "live and let live" philosophy of life. If you want others to accept your right to choose your faith and place of worship, it makes sense that you allow them the same freedom.

@SW-User so true

If your Faith is in the very nature of Reality-as-is as Infinite Compassion, Infinite Wisdom, Infinite Potential, and that fundamentally it is pure Grace that "saves/enlightens" within a Universalist perspective then it is a simple consequence that all, irrespective of belief, are to be accepted. In a sense, their beliefs become irrelevant, even if wrong.

There is no need to "accept" any belief considered to be false.

EDIT:- for example, if someone's belief is that Jesus is the "only way" and that all those who follow another faith are lost eternally then what on earth would it mean to "accept" that belief? Obviously, accepting the person themselves is another matter.

@SW-User I would say you would have to accept it's their belief. You don't have to agree with it

@Axeroberts Of course! Another aspect, at least as I see it (and have known it) is that we are often "saved" inspite of our beliefs rather than because of them. "The Lord works in mysterious ways" as some would say.....😀

So you believe woman who are caught in adultry should be stoned to death then? Or a thief should have his hand cut off? people with other religous beliefs believe these things you know..

You can be ""Happy with these beliefs but me... Naaaa i will not be accepting them..
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Adstar those are not beliefs. They're crimes. Respectful beliefs. I didn't know I had to clarify that

If science shakes someone's faith, they need to do some self reflection.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Crazywaterspring or if anything shakes their belief
I’d rather know than believing without evidence.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@BlueSkyKing if your "belief" or non-belief is strong enough then you can accept their belief.
@Axeroberts Nope, I won’t have any respect for claims that are magic based.

Yeah like God is and isn't a trinity 🙄🥱
Define "accept". If that's the alternative to foaming at the mouth over beliefs you disagree with, then I can accept. But the way I see it, I reject things I know are wrong, even if I sometimes keep that to myself

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP not to accept them as your own
Acceptance and tolerance isn't always something those with strong religious beliefs have, but everyone is different and it depends on strength of character I guess, as to whether you can stand by what you believe in the face of those who do not.

@Gatesofsilentmemory stong religious beliefs are not the same as a strong faith to me
@Axeroberts But isn't your faith built on your religious beliefs?
