Is science the religion of atheism?

@gol979 Scientism is an ideology, but it's not a religion. There is no worshipping of any kind, no cult, no rituals, nothing which characterizes religious practices.
There is also no disdain of dissenting views as long as those views are based on evidence, and corroborated statistically.

@gol979 A sense of "holiness", which is so typical for religions, is totally absent in scientism. Scientism is wrong, but not because it's a religion.

@helenS like i said, just look at covid scientism. Priest actually stated it was your religious duty to be injected, protect the community. Theres a whole swap of superiority (or to use your word, "holiness") in this covid scientism.

And to go back to your previous point that there are no rituals......you might want to check out the opening of cern. If thats not a (very,very bizarre) ritual i dont know what is.

@helenS a!so, you say its not a cult but i witnessed with my own eyes and ears people banging pots and pans every thursday at 8pm to celebrate the nhs. If thats not cult like behaviour, i dont know what is.
