I did a lot of self reflecting. I realized how shitty my family was

Especially my dad's side of the family. Sometimes you are blinded by what you think is love, you dont see people for who they really are. My parents did their best to give me a life that they didnt have but it's sad that people who should support you are the ones that hurt you the most. If i ever have kids, im making sure their grow up in an environment where they think they can accomplish anything in life and be happy when others accomplish things because thats means they can possibly do it too. Instead if being envious and bitter. Sucks how generational trauma is thrown on to us at our most vulnerable.

My oldest son was bullied for years and the person who started it was his cousin(father’s side). The aunt did nothing at all and insisted it wasn’t true. One day I told my son to knock the biggest kid out after he shot him w/paint balls. There was a huge crowd. He punched the kid who was massive compared to him and he fell on his back. Guess who wanted to make up immediately? I took care of all four of his cousins not just to spend time w/them, but when they needed someone to talk to, were in trouble, needed homework help etc. They had 8 blood aunts/uncles and came to me for everything. Imagine the mother of these kids allowed her kid to bully my child? Like you, my kids had to learn who was there when it mattered and who was genuine. They know to be careful from all they’ve seen. Same with their g-ma.

It sucks, but you’re better off without them. They don’t deserve your time or heart.
