@bijouxbroussard I was pregnant with my first baby and a "temporary" person was brought in, she was lovely and told me that, she was from Lithuania and her mother just wanted a friend /life so she went into the town and got drunk and had se x, and that was that... She was born.. She detailed so much more that was upsetting tbh

@Jinxie My best friend decided she wanted a child, but she knew she never wanted to get married. So she told the man she was dating. Over the years they have co-parented their son. He’s been a good father, and my friend also has a wonderful father and brothers who have provided all the male role models the boy (now a young man of 30 and a college professor !) could’ve wanted.

There was someone in a high position (department head) where I worked who was said to have married and had a child in order to receive an inheritance from his father, who was wealthy. He told him if he didn’t marry & have a child he would be cut out of the will. So he had one child, he was getting up there about middle-aged and developed Parkinson’s disease and died before he could get the inheritance.

To secure resources. It the same concept as marrying a man you aren't attracted to. You need resources and he has the resources. It's no surprise then that after a while dead bedroom becomes a thing. I had a woman on here tell me she didn't know that getting married meant she'd have to sleep with a man she finds revolting. I wonder what she thought happens in a marriage.
