There is no graceful way
For a grown man to get out of a bean bag chair.
Last night was just what we needed. We made a home made pizza and then I made a fire. We made s'mores and I turned on baseball games. (The Banana's and the Royals)
My daughter asked me to sit with her in the chair. Seemed like a great idea at the time. I must of fallen asleep during one of the game.
I wake up hearing the guys coming home. The boys run over and I quickly shh them so they don't wake up sissy. Now Joel and my buddy are standing by us. Then Star. Great an audience. It's hard enough trying to get up without waking her up now I have everyone watching me. It takes me a few awkward tries but I finally get up. They are all laughing at me.
Go ahead laugh it up. I say. Now my daughter is awake and she's laughing too

Anyway Joel and I get the boys ready for bed. My buddy is kinda following us around. But something seemed weird like he didn't want to leave. Like he had something to say.
He finally asked if we wanted a drink and cigars
We agreed
That's when I noticed Joel was wearing a different shirt.
I asked what happened
Joel laughed and said our youngest managed to spill soda all over his shirt during the game
My tiny tornado
Joel starts to make the fire and I go in to get the drinks and cigars. My buddy followed me in kitchen.
Is something wrong I asked
I know you told me Joel hurt his back but you didn't tell me about the bruises. I noticed when he changed this shirt.

He cuts me off saying It really looks like he's got some broken rids. And He really should go to the ER and get that checked out.
Fire's ready I jumped when I heard Joel call out.
We sit outside and have our smoke.
Joel finished first and said he was going to bed because of work.
You need to talk him into going my buddy says once Joel is gone.
Yeah I will, the boys don't have volleyball games this tomorrow so I'll get Star to watch the kids and we'll go as soon as he's off work tomorrow.
If she can't I'll come over and watch them.
That's when I really started to worry.
So now I'm sitting here waiting for him to get home. And no matter what he says we are going.
