Cricket in America
Today the ICC T 20 WorldCup begins in the West Indies and in America. To Explain: ICC is the International Cricket Council and T 20 is a match over 20 0vers per side.
The point of all this is that the Americans have a team in an ICC World Cup competiton for the first time. First game is in Dallas. USA v Canada.
In all 20 teams take part in four groups of five; The top two from each group play off in "super eights" then semi finals and final. THe main cricketing nations (England, South Africa, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, West Indies, Sri Lanka and some would include Australia), Recenty emerged teams (Afghanistan, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland) and eight countres not generally known for the game (Canada, Oman, Nepal, Namibia, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, and some country called USA) are competing. Will anyone be watching?
