Congratulations, Atlanta!

@HannahSky I was lucky enough to get to attend game 2 of the World Series between the Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros back in 2005, the game where Paul Konerko hit a grand slam and Scott Podsednik won the game for the Sox with a walk-off home run. After the game ended, I was walking to the exit and there was a line for the bathrooms that went out the door and down the hallway of the stadium, and one guy in line was decked out head to toe in Astros gear. He had on the ball cap, the jersey, a leather jacket with the Houston logo on it and a matching baseball glove on his hand. A very obviously drunk Sox fan said "Hey everybody look at this fool!" and people began laughing at the guy. My father yelled at him "Go home and kiss George Bush" and ten year old me thought that was the funniest thing I'd ever heard.

@HannahSky Especially since we swept the Astros that year lol. In fact, the '05 White Sox have the best postseason record in MLB history. It's arguable they had the best season ever. They were in first place wire to wire from the start of the season to the end, and they lost only one single playoff game. It was as close to perfect as has ever been.

@BluntSm0ker There's a few reasons why the Astros are so strongly disliked. The first and most obvious is the cheating scandal. They got caught for it and everything, but they never really were punished for it, and most of the people responsible are still with the franchise. The second reason is because Texas kinda sucks, and Houston as a city represents most of what people dislike about Texas. Another reason is because George W. Bush is a huge Astros fan and he was a fucking idiot.

The Bush thing is especially relevant to me because I was at game 2 of the 2005 World Series, White Sox vs. Astros, and after the game ended a bunch of Sox fans were making fun of a guy wearing all Astros gear from head to toe. My father yelled at him "Go home and kiss Bush!" and ten year old me thought that was just the funniest thing I'd ever heard.
