@MrBrownstone Some things do and some things don't. But if native Americans find a team's name and/or logo offensive, nobody else is in a position to tell them they can't or shouldn't feel that way.

@RedBaron And we need to get rid of the Rangers, too. Can't have a team glorifying cops now can we?

@sunsporter1649 You obviously don't know anything about Rangers history. The name has nothing to do with police. The Rangers were so named for playing at Madison Square Garden, which was owned in the 1920s by a man named Tex Rickard. Thus, they were called Tex's Rangers. Perhaps if you had known this, you would have refrained from making such an ignorant comment.

@sunsporter1649 Actually, I am. I posted about the Cleveland Guardians, remember? Duh. Nobody is suggesting that the Texas Rangers should change their name, and the New York Rangers in hockey came first. So what's your point?

And a trivia question: Can you name the 6 teams in the four major professional sports that have duplicate nicknames?

@sunsporter1649 It's done on a case-by-case basis with no blanket policy. Nobody is offended by the name Rangers. A better question is why are you so offended. What damage has been done to you?
