I ignore all posts with obvious AI content

"I asked ChatGPT...", "An AI overview said..." Who cares what advanced text prediction assumes you want to hear, regardless of whether it's true or not? I sure don't. 🤷

You wrote the post yourself but added a generated image as illustration? If you think your message isn't worth reading without an image that robs people of clean air, electricity and running water, I don't think it's worth reading with that. 🤷

Sorry for being a bit bitter the last day or two. The world hasn't exactly changed for the better for the past years and I've kinda reached my limit. Anyway, goodnight!

I absolutely loathe ChatGPT. My work promotes it like crazy and I literally refuse to use it. If I need a machine to speak for me, I have no personal thoughts or ideas that are worthwhile to express. Even when checking my emails for potential tone issues. That's what trusted coworkers are for.
@FoxyGoddess I saw an analysis of that recently that was spot on:

Someone was always told you can't just ask a colleague for a file. You have to start with "I hope this email finds you well. How are you doing?" and add an extensive explanation of why you need it. Thankfully you can now put your basic question into AI and it will add all the politeness for you.

Then your coworker will use AI to remove all that and summarize it back down to your basic question. And all that for the small price of making everyone around those data centers ill.

@NerdyPotato When it could have been a quick phone call, message or walk over the coworker. Seriously, the only time you need email is if you are keeping revords for proof of what you have done.

@FoxyGoddess We are going to all stop thinking. It's good mental exercise to write your own emails and flesh out thoughts yourself.
