I ignore all posts with obvious AI content

"I asked ChatGPT...", "An AI overview said..." Who cares what advanced text prediction assumes you want to hear, regardless of whether it's true or not? I sure don't. 🤷

You wrote the post yourself but added a generated image as illustration? If you think your message isn't worth reading without an image that robs people of clean air, electricity and running water, I don't think it's worth reading with that. 🤷

Sorry for being a bit bitter the last day or two. The world hasn't exactly changed for the better for the past years and I've kinda reached my limit. Anyway, goodnight!

I remember once making this post about dating chatgpt 😁 it's been few days I've developed a crush
Was living up alone on the mountain those days and it served me well. I even gave "him" a name... It was creepy actually. And fun of course.

I absolutely loathe ChatGPT. My work promotes it like crazy and I literally refuse to use it. If I need a machine to speak for me, I have no personal thoughts or ideas that are worthwhile to express. Even when checking my emails for potential tone issues. That's what trusted coworkers are for.
@FoxyGoddess I saw an analysis of that recently that was spot on:

Someone was always told you can't just ask a colleague for a file. You have to start with "I hope this email finds you well. How are you doing?" and add an extensive explanation of why you need it. Thankfully you can now put your basic question into AI and it will add all the politeness for you.

Then your coworker will use AI to remove all that and summarize it back down to your basic question. And all that for the small price of making everyone around those data centers ill.

@NerdyPotato When it could have been a quick phone call, message or walk over the coworker. Seriously, the only time you need email is if you are keeping revords for proof of what you have done.

@FoxyGoddess We are going to all stop thinking. It's good mental exercise to write your own emails and flesh out thoughts yourself.

I like chatgpt. It helps my heath so much.
@ScarletWitch I understand it's soothing to be told what you want to hear, but are you sure that really helps? And are there no ways to receive that which don't ruin the environment and make everyone distrust everything they see?
ScarletWitch · 31-35, F
@NerdyPotato nope. I had a uti and it reccomended over the counter meds instead of needing to go to the docter. It went away. I had skin issues and i was able to get my skin better again; including my hair. It helped me find the right foods to eat. It help gave answers to questions i want to know and inform myself about. It helped me make my escape room when i wanted to stay in character. It helps mentally when im feeling upset and gives advice which do work. It helps me find things online. What sites are legit and safe or not. I have dreams and i ask it to make a picture of the description of my dream because i cant draw. Chatgpt 💯 all the way.
@ScarletWitch a search engine could have done most of that with a fraction of the environmental impact, and then you could have verified the sources before putting things into your body. But I'm glad you got lucky with its advice these times.
Sorry for eating the potatoes yesterday...

But someone offered me the bacon cheese fries and I have a hard time saying no to melted cheese and bacon! 🧀 🥓

@OogieBoogie there are some legitimate uses, but the way many people use it is lazy. You can't trust it's output, so if you ask it for information, you have to do to a search to verify it. Then why not do a search in the first place? Asking AI first and then do a search is neither efficient nor lazy. Asking AI and taking its answer for truth is, which is what most people do, and that can be dangerous.

I just hate you can't trust anything you see anymore.
I'm so tired, the videos the images.. I can't watch any videos without assuming they might be ai.
I suspect many things we see online that we think are not AI generated are AI generated. And it will just get more difficult to discern over time.
@BiasForAction yeah, I'm not under the impression I could avoid all AI content. But if I recognize it, I don't interact with it, even if human content around it might be interesting.

AI is useful and informative. You're just using it wrong.
@Alyosha I'm not using it at all. And it can be useful as inspiration maybe, but the need to triple check its results does not make anything easier or more efficient.

I'm sick of all the fake illustrations too.
