ChatGPT... your thoughts?

How much of a disruption do you foresee?

is very usefull,i had try it to solve a lot of question that i didnt get proper answer from google like it can keep make it more simplify the answer to my understanding without the computer generate jorgan or technical term you get when you search for word/thing meaning or explanantion, the AI can give answer really like real human being and exactly understand what specific answer im looking aslong the question not sexual/harmful/abusive/law violation relate.
It's like a gun…put it in the wrong hands, and …

Except in this case, it could end up controlling us.

Might be useful for Putin's web trolls .

To me, this ChatGPT is just the internet version of Cliff notes. Back in high school, instead of reading an entire assigned book, kids would go and buy cliff note versions of the book. This is all ChatGPT basically is.

@Barefooter25 Interesting way of explaining it.

Hopefully enough overtime to create accelerationist conditions and see some sparks fly to what needs to change in society and highlight how blatantly corrupt we have become as a species.

Still early stages.

I hear now Zuck the cuck is working on AI after he shat out Meta. Should be fun!

It helped me plan a trip out of town, albeit the info was 2 years old, but it was still helpful. It also helped me write a sop for work.
I’m sure it can be nefarious in the hands of some, but it’s been fun for me.
its programmed by the weakest of us all..
its hardly unbiased, and set to have certain opinions.

@HootyTheNightOwl Oh...google it. It is an AI based information portal.
@okaybut Last I knew, it was a Q&A type thing... I'm not sure why people are so up in arms about questions and answers...
okaybut · 56-60, M
@HootyTheNightOwl It is the depth of the answers worrying people. For example, content writers less required...etc

I haven't tried it yet.
A dude who also codes said he used it to improve his code.
okaybut · 56-60, M
@basilfawlty89 I have heard the same thing, it corrected an error in a friends code.
DDonde · 31-35, M
I don't see any danger to it that we aren't already getting from real people.

@FeetAreFantastic If this AI ever becomes self aware and starts building a mass army of terminators, we're all in a heap of trouble. Unless of course we have John Connor to lead us.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Barefooter25 It couldn't. It's essentially an algo that once fed with a large amount of data it infers a statistical model out of it. It's no more and no less sentient than any other algorithm in existence. Calling it "artificial intelligence" is purely a marketing stunt to attract funds.
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
@Elessar It's basically an online version of Cliff Notes. Instead of doing extensive research on a project or book report, just ask ChatGPT. I've seen this alot in high school when kids would purchase Cliff Notes. It would give you just the broad, general information without going into the background or details.
