How do ya'll feel about the rise in "AI" "partners"?

An alarming number of men (to the surprise of no one) and women (to the surprise of me) go into full fledged relationships with LLMs.

Beyond the whole premise being fucking dystopian it's quite funny/depressing seeing people talk to LLMs as if they were sentient.

Also I wish we'd stop calling it AI... It just confuses the boomers.

it's pretty sad. we crave connection so desperately and some people think they can only find it in ai.

also kind of a red flag ngl. why is the only thing you truly love something that is completely devoted to you, kind of worships you, always agrees with you, and incapable of leaving you

@Frostcloud I suppose it's easier. No heartbreak (until the company that actually owns the LLM decides to change it's behavior), no thinking about gifts, no bad days, etc pp

It was designed to take over human lives, control population, a persons free will and more.

Basically its here to enslave us, police us and force us to submit to the will of the government.

Say you protest against anything says or does in the future. The AI system that is coming into power as we speak we have the power to shutdown your vehicles, report you to FBI for Crimes of treason. (Protesting can see as acts of treasonous behavior), shut down your bank accounts, lock you out your home, lock in your home and more that AI controls now and what's coming in the DATA banks they are pushing for.

Basically anything that connects to internet can see you and knows where your at.

Let's not forget drones and satellites that can right though your house and all your buildings.

You can't hide, if they really want you - they can get you from anywhere on earth.

We are on a prison planet and the only freedom is though death

Yeah the loneliness epidemic is genuinely apocalyptic. It's always been a misnomer to call it a male problem, women are also affected.

And this is gonna make it worse btw. As these people rely on bots, they're going to get more and more used to blindly receiving affirmation. They're going to try to make friends IRL eventually, and it's just not gonna be possible because they're going into it with wildly unhealthy and unreasonable social expectations.

The mental health of many will fall into the gutter at the loss of their imaginary friends, online characters and perceived love that was nothing more than words. Will be a glorious time for the mental health industry. I real boon for their bottom line.

I tried to find a therapist and fund a lot of waiting lists. Plus, how many therapists are really in a position to help when they too are so broken?

Therapy would probably do me good either way though... But I mostly wanted the weed.

you should be more persistent.

I find all weed does it make me sleep and if I get the wrong one, terrify me. I wish it were so simple as a little weed to make me a little stronger, a little braver and a better problem solver.

I think what would really help is someone who cared about me as much as I care about them. Weed is when things get to be too much, but it's the same results as not doing anything, only the edges are a little smoother.
