Can anyone truly say, upon witnessing humanoids, that more intelligence is not needed?

When I was in high school, calculators were a new thing and they were changing the world in a negative way.

Can’t be stopped. I’m hoping AI will be used for the good. AI can help us all. There will be good and bad just like the internet.

Yes I am opposing

Unfortunately, A.I. has become a weapon. AND the Chinese and the United States are in a race to see whose A.I. will dominate future battlefields. The United States is of the opinion that the Chinese must NOT win...not unless we would all enjoy being good little commies.
So you can oppose and protest all you like, and it won't make a bit of difference.

It is necessary in some aspects, but not in the way tech billionaires are forcing it into everything. Under the hood, AI isn't a magic toolbox that turns a village idiot into a skilled carpenter. It is an amplifier incredibly productive in the hands of the right person, but completely useless without foundational skills.

@DareToSayIT Problem is that there are people who can make it productive for people without foundational skills.
Generative is the key term here. The biggest problem now is it's way too expensive to make it useful for people without foundational skills, and it will be the same way within most of our lifetimes.
If people are stupid enough to give Musk more money to inflate his stock, enough to build his data centers in space, HE, not those pumping up his stock, will use it to drive the robots to service his 1-million colony on Mars, not the average person on this planet.
Moore's law was half'ing the price, while doubling the functionality every 18 months. Since AI, it's going the opposite direction. Companies are starting to realize that humans are going to be cheaper than AI.
This coming holiday season, the price of the gaming system you will give your kids, is going to at least double, and that's before Trump's economic/trade policy effects kick in.

@Penny I am mot an atheist, but it seems that the loudest voice of reason on this issue is from the Pope:

I should also note that the co-founder of Anthropic was in attendance when the Pope deliver his encyclical.
Disclaimer: I am in this particular field, and I know we don't need the massive data centers to accomplish what I'm looking for, but we DO need them for military and surveillance applications.
