Honestly, I think it’s just gonna make people even more disconnected. Real relationships are already hard to build, and this feels like an easy escape that’ll make the loneliness worse in the long run. Nothing can replace actual human connection.
I find it very scary that people are becoming more and more detached from the real world and actual relationships. Seems like it would open the door even wider not only to isolation and loneliness but to all kinds of cruelty as human beings come to be seen as nothing but a vague concept unworthy of care and concern. Basically I see decreasing socialization as becoming a descent into madness.
I think humans are losing their ability to connect to one another. Any survey will tell you that people feel lonelier than ever. Technology is a major contributor this loneliness and lack of ability to form friendships or relationships, so it's not surprising that people are now turning to technology itself to fill that void. Unfortunately I don't think anything is going to come of it other than further erosion of our ability to connect with people. The more solipsistic and detached we are, the worse off humanity will be.
I agree but there is no stopping it. Look at sex robots with AI, people can set their own parameters of what they want. Much cheaper than a living person to have around. Plus they don’t argue and you can just switch them off.
I am concerned that I can't make enough money to feed people who are starving and dying in under-privileged territories. It is hard to care about other things in the western world.
I think it's an unhealthy experience which gives people a dopanine fix but never truly satisfy them. Porn is already unhealthy for people who crave real sexual partners, because it gives them the fix, but not the intimacy that's supposed to follow, so I can only imagine what false intimacy might do to someone who's already lonely and depressed.
I think it should be pretty concerning. people have been on a long, dedicated slide to having minimal or no physical interaction with other people, or as little as possible for years. I think it'll end up in a very not good place pretty soon.
My thoughts: it is a technological step towards furthering domestication of men, one that will increase the brave human alpha male selection for single human females looking for potential male partners.
It works in the woman's favour that undesirable males stay home and play with their computers and toys, Ai gives men the option to pull girls at home instead of going out to pull a real girl.
@SlippingAway Yeah, something else to think about is a guy named Harry Harlow, remember he did those terrible experiments on monkeys with surrogate artificial mothers.. Compare Ai as humans surrogate source of comfort, its just better tech, smarter labs and bigger monkeys.

Imagine ordering the man of your dreams who shows up in a 6 foot long cardboard box, who is delivered to your door by a FedEx employee driving a blue and white truck? How cool is that?
