It really concerns me that people are now having romantic relationships with AI. What are your thoughts on this?

It's already hard enough building connections for people. I can't imagine this will help, it can only hurt. I imagine the future to be lonelier if this trend continues.

I think humans are losing their ability to connect to one another. Any survey will tell you that people feel lonelier than ever. Technology is a major contributor this loneliness and lack of ability to form friendships or relationships, so it's not surprising that people are now turning to technology itself to fill that void. Unfortunately I don't think anything is going to come of it other than further erosion of our ability to connect with people. The more solipsistic and detached we are, the worse off humanity will be.
