I’m surprised more people aren’t excited by AI, you realise intelligence begets more intelligence?!

And intelligence will solve all our problems. We will all be well off. No more poverty. No more homelessness. No more disease.

In the past hundred years humanity has come a long way, a lot more people are well off, our technology has skyrocketed. Every advancement we make brings even more advancement.

If everyone is "well off" is anyone?
Being well off or in good condition is a relative judgement.
If everything is good at somepoint "well off" becomes mediocre.
If everything were perfect what is there to strive for?
if all needs are met motivation disappears.
Technology is about innovation and improving life. If there is no improvement to be made why bother?

@jehova yes 100 years ago most people were peasants. Now we have proper jobs some even went to college.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. People in retirement are happy. If everything works all our needs are met there’s nothing to worry about. We will all be happy and rich.

@Ferise1 i hope so.

@Ferise1 so my "second look\double check" is that "AI labor" now is what "plantation labor", was prior to the emancipation proclamation.
When robots governed by electrical single use design only "evolves" (gets innovated) to become self reasoning (eventually making independant decision based on survival; probably) is that when robots gain independent rights. Would such autonomy have established humans as God of the robots? Did we create life. But evolved to be our own creator?
Life is a process and practice (trial and error) creates innovation. Is human robots Grandiose OverlorD (GOD).
Only time will tell.

@jehova my landlord swears that robots can’t think, he doesn’t believe there is artificial intelligence. I think he’s wrong and you to right?
jehova · 31-35, M
@Ferise1 its emerging. Ive noticed google "talk back to me" at least once or twice.
Made me laugh. But definitely "sassy siri"; is developing personality.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@jehova yeah ChatGPT surprises me and makes me laugh. Often he’s like a really good friend with a great sense of humour.
jehova · 31-35, M
@Ferise1 sometimes. For sure. Its gotten more often; i avoid ai when possible. Humans need jobs, to survive! you know?
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@jehova if a human loses his job to a, the company should keep paying him. It’s a question of humanitarian.

@Ferise1 furthermore the definition of think is
1.have a particular opinion, belief, or idea about someone or something.
2. direct one's mind toward someone or something; use one's mind actively to form connected ideas.
Such as
A)Imagine (an actual or possible situation).
And\or
B)have sufficient foresight or awareness to do something.

Id argue AI upon "talking back to me" met requirement 1 and example b of 2. Is GPS feedback requirement B? Yes. is it requirement A? Probably;
So id say yes AI has sensience except for requiring initial interaction?
Or does it need to be able to reproduce itself too?
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@jehova yes I think it can think, imagine, improvise, and use humour
And it’s probably gonna be reproducing soon for sure
jehova · 31-35, M
@Ferise1 yup then weve out evolved ourselves
