July 1990, Fort Vancouver, Washington, 4th of July celebration, all sorts of various has been bands going back to the 1950's, about an hour before the fireworks we got notice of a surprise band, the Charlie Daniels Band came out.

August 1995 I'm walking around DownTown Portland, Oregon, during a day off, I'm going by Portland Courthouse Square and start hearing mic check, mic check, check, check, check, 1...2...3... and see a large stage in the middle of the Square and decide to sit on one of the steps to see what's going on, band members start coming out and playing their instruments, then I recognize Richie Sambora starting to play Blaze of Glory and Jon Bon Jovi runs out from side stage and belts it out singing, they never advertised it. When I got back to my grandmother's place my younger cousin said Bon Jovi was on the news saying they played DownTown, I told her I was there, she then started crying and hitting me saying it wasn't fair.
