burlesque revivals

I have always been fascinated by the old fashioned burlesque shows. There are revivals all over the United States and I've always wanted to try performing in a burlesque show. The strip tease is more about the tease than the strip, which is right up my alley. Have any of you been to a show?

I had a friend who did a couple. I found it to be way more like theater, with a positive and supportive vibe, than anything sexual. My take is that it was sort of by women and for women. It was cool and the ladies, of all sizes and shapes, seemed to really have fun with it.
