I Am Curious About Open Relationship

Will someone please explain to me the concept of an open relationship. Like how do you justify it? How can you say you love someone when you're off sleeping around with other people? I mean relationships have always been pretty cut and dry for me. Either sh*t is f*cked up or its all good in the hood. There is no in between

For me its like asking me why i like red velvet cake when you find it disgusting. I just like it an no explanation i give will satisfy you. Now, i am not in an open relationship per se, but i dont have a problem with my husband seeing other women. I know i am not perfect and will never satisfy him 100% because that is just fantasy. When my depression gets bad and i dont want sex for months at a time, I know he still needs release and would much rather he has someone else for sex rather than breaking up our marriage.
